I was there, a classmate of mine got us on the guest list, his cousin worked for the band I think he did sound. I remember during the gig bono climbed up on the speaker stack and someone one threw him a cornetto and he proceeded to sing the tv advert "just one cornetto give it to me"

U2 live! even back then they were amazing. Full of energy, passion and the freedom to play all the tracks with that raw fresh talent the way they liked. Out of control, Stories for boys, Boy girl, Twilight, 11 o'clock tick tock. I was hooked from the very beginning and all for only a fiver! What a way to spend christmas eve. Magic!

Great night xmas eve dublin 82... cant remember who played support.... but i do remember hearing new years day and sunday B sunday for first time.... My first u2 gig was in jan earlier that year at RDS (oct tour ) and i havn't missed a tour since...... I was just about to turn 18 in Jan 83... this gig was just before their first top ten UK hit new years day and the no1 album war. Great venue also used later for pride video. Got to see them again later in Aug 83 at phoenix park racecourse with support from eurthymics, simple minds and big country,... GREAT TIMES
