I still recall this night. Meeting my best mate beforehand, illegally parking nearby the stadium, the expectation of the support acts. The crowd-watching. 'Streets' was simply epic. I also remember Jordan - was it staged? Who cares. Very effective and showed U2's desire to connect with their audience, regardless of the capacity. Leaving with the tribe singing '40' through the Wembley tunnels still gives me goosebumps. We drove 2.5hrs back to Norfolk in a beaten up Triumph Spitfire, singing all the way. I was 20 and it feels like yesterday.

An evening never to forget- Wembley Stadium, home of football and taken over by the power and inspiration of Bono and co......resulting in my proposing to my then girlfriend, Susie on the pitch!! Now approaching our 24th wedding anniversary and cant wait to see the O2 shows in October! "PRIDE, IN THE NAME OF LOVE......."

Brilliant concert - stood right at the front. People had cool boxes with food and beer in. Mid concert a whole (cooked) chicken hit me in the chest!!
To Magsieboy...I remember Jordan too!!

1st U2 Gig
My first ever U2 gig and certainly not the last.
I remember getting to the stadium early to see the support and boy what a list... The Pretenders, Spear of Destiny, World Party. It was a great build up to what was a superb night. Managed to get near the front for a great view. Streets and Still Haven't Found were my highlight. Four fellas with no props creating what was an electric evening. Still got the flag and the Programme from the day.

Lost my mates in the crowd whilst gettin
What a night - I remember the trip down from Chorley, Lancs on the bus. Had just been to see them at NEC and was still on a high. We stopped at Watford Gap services which I thought was near London and I bought a U2 badge. Just left school, just turned 16, I was too young to see them on Unforgettable Fire tour. A few fans from school were also there - I hooked up with them and me and Sonia Turner when to get some beers. We thought we'd just be able to find the others just be looking in the general vicintity of where we had left them - yeah right! In the end we just drank their beer, found a great spot about a third of the way back and had the BEST time. I remember 'trip through you wires' - no more water in the well - they sprayed the crowd with water. A young band got up and played a whole song - what an experience. I had a t-shirt but I got pain on it art college a few years later and sadly don't know what happened to it - I treasure them all now and wished I had kept that one for ever.

blagged day off work
first u2 concert and I was hooked. Remember Lone Justice opening, Lou Reed and the Pretenders and were the Pogues there too or was that Leeds? Live at Red Rocks being played in the Wembley Bar too. AMAZING gig just the backdrop to the Joshua Tree on stage and Bono coming to sit on the stage near me to sing with or without you. Didn't want to leave as the whole stadium were singing '40'
managed to get up close as don't remember there being any centre circle back then. Tickets were easier to come by too as booked for Leeds gig the very next day. Had an original T shirt that my mum cut up for dusters when she thought it was too faded...:(

Biggest crowd
Seeing U2 in Auckland in 84 with what seemed like an intimate crown to this 80000 crowd was simply mind blowing left me buzzing for months to come an from there moved to Dublin so inspired.

Skipped School
I've got a really clear memory of Spear of Destiny playing Never Take Me Alive. Also, Bono mentioned how they'd not been able to play Pride during Live Aid, that was at Wembley too, hence the comment, I guess.
Hardly saw the band though because there weren't any screens, but it was still a brilliant show.

My first U2 gig....
I was 15 years old and my dad took me to wembley! What an amazing experience, one i will never forget...still following the band today. I remember them coming on stage to Stand By Me, no screens, no gimics, just 4 guys. One thing that will remain with me forever is the impact of 40...walking out of Wembley down the stair wells and everyone still united sing 40. This is something which never happens anymore and is very much missed.

Distant memories
Seems so long ago now. I was 16, just left school. I had just bought the Joshua Tree album, the first album i had ever bought on release date. What a gig, hairs standing on end when the back drop went red for "Where the Streets have no name" I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to have lived at a time when such a band exists.

My first U2 gig,i was 14,there was 80,000 people and just four men on stage, my lasting memory was of the power of the band,no visual masterpieces ie zoo Tv,Popmart, but WOW.Lasting memory EXIT,RUNNING,BULLET, UNFORGETTABLE FIRE,ELECTRIC CO,and someone called Jordan being hauled up on stage to play People get Ready, then finally what sounded like the whole world singing 40,what an introduction and ive been addicted ever since.
