Night Two in Canada

'Now you're at the other end of the telescope
Seven billion stars in her eyes
So many stars
So many ways of seeing
Hey this is no time not to be alive …'

When & Where
Wednesday June 6th 2018, night two at the Bell Centre, Montreal. Show 15 and final Canadian show for U2eiTour.

Set List
A welcome return for All Because Of You, replacing Gloria in spot 5 on the setlist. It's last outing was back at the LA Forum in May.

On The Socials
@MarieAllisonRoy Thank you to all four members of @U2 and crew for the best night of my life. This is a memory no one can take away from me. Best band of all time.

@RRoxtar What an emotional and wonderful night at U2 eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE tour. Meeting Bono and The Edge was a bonus. There is a Light indeed.

On The Fansites
Chris Enns (@ichris on twitter) - host of the @atu2 podcast - is from Canada and was at both Montreal shows, his first time seeing the show this time around. 'Canadians love U2 and since they've yet to tour Saskatoon, St. John's, or Rankin Inlet, Canadians came from far and wide to converge on Montreal.  And U2 clearly loves Canada. Night one was electric with the band feeding off the crowd's excitement at finally getting to see this tour. The second show in a city - or country in this case - has a tough act to follow. Innocence gone. The crowd is a bit more experienced.  Night two saw the band put on a great show. To mix it up, the band swapped out Gloria for All Because of You. My tastes lean towards the former, but plenty of folks were excited to hear the latter. U2 leaves Canada with a strong message of Canada's ability to love... being bigger than anything in its way ... but still plenty of work to be done. The closing of 13 felt like a message for us north of a country that doesn't always remember how to love:
“I know the world is dumb
But you don't have to be
I've got a question for the child in you before it leaves
Are you tough enough to be kind?
Do you know your heart has it's own mind?
Darkness gathers around the light
Hold on, hold on”

Experience(s) Of The Day
Has to be the adventures of our very own zootopia moderators just ahead of the show today. We had heard that 4 past & present zoomods were in town and were meeting up in 'real life' for the very first time in Montreal. By way of thanks for all they do for us here at U2.com & right across the U2 community, we invited  them to explore that rarely-seen place known as the 'underworld' that exists below the #U2eiTour stage. Dallas, Stuart, Terry and Sam really made them feel at home… Check out the Gallery they have started over in the Zoo (and are adding to) to see what went on. Its pretty special  (@maxtsukino @mich40u2 @u2baja & @_bigwave_ all on twitter and collectively under the @u2comzoomods twitter banner for more).

What did Bono Say?
'We desire to be in the room with the greatest rock'n'roll fans on the planet!'

'Leonard Cohen right in front of you.' (during Beautiful Day).

Review On U2.com / Zootopia

I'm gonna need more whisky to write this
When you have lived long enough you learn how to deal with the day-to-day reality and keep moving forward. It requires some denial...some dehumanising yourself. It would be great if we could all live in the here and now, but reality doesn't allow (yes you can use the rhyme with out credit to me). But going to a U2 concert helps to remind one that there is hope beyond the day-to-day...that love and optimism can make things better. The show in Montreal on June 6 was one of those nights. I will never forget!

    Montreal June 6
Its always fun hanging out with fellow U2 fans. Everyone is friends here. U2 concerts always unite the best in people. Plus its fun to dress up for the concert. Here is my version of 2015 bono with aviator style sunglasses, and another guy dressed as Popmart bono.

What an experience my girlfriend and I had having the opportunity to be next to the stage in GA. Thank you to the band and those who organized the GA wristbands. Sound was perfect and the new songs really come alive in the Bell Centre. Kevin and Charmaine

Love the show so much managed to get a ticket for June 6th show this time with a seat (LOL) but did not sit all that much.. Come Thursday night June 7th, something was wishing that evening, yes, missing the music, I know I have CD's to play, you tube to watch, but there's nothing better than the real thing. Live shows ROCK, from vocals, guitars, bass, drums and cymbals running threw ones body, most amazing vibes, feelings... Please come back soon, Montreal loves you guys with a passion. Cheers Ken.. I just want to add that both nights were fabulous however night 2 was absolutely flawless...I have been to too many U2 shows to count, U2.you and us fans in Montreal, are truly a match made in heaven. The band was in great voice and having Edge 1ft away from me in RZ was the best this Montreal U2 fan could ask for. Thank you .2 great unforgettable nights .

    Love you but...
Enjoyed the show and the artistic creativity of it as always. I have been going to every concert since 1985 so I am a veteran. I love U2 and the pure joy I get from your music. It is a gift. But I am starting to feel the messaging in the pre-show memes and the political overtones are - for the first time - beginning to distract from the music which is what I want most. Joshua Tree 2017 in Toronto was such a joyful show. It was as good as 1987. I love you guys.

Montreal shows are the shows to be at on a U2 Tour. Always. Hands down the best shows. The band and the crowd feed off of each other. I was in GA for the first night RedZone for the 2nd night. Love meeting other fans (old and new) and sharing the #U2Fam experience. Plus I had a nice little chat with Brian before the show!

    "Fan of Leonard Cohen"
"Holding on to the music of Leonard Cohen........He called us friends, but really we were just fans.......Fan of Leonard Cohen"..................Bad/Suzanne/Hallelujah. It was magical in Toronto (2017) it was "The moment" of that show....... it would be so spiritual in Montreal. Hoping you do it on the 6th, making the trip "from another part of the country".......
