U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere #30

'A really cool big top…'

On Saturday night, a ringmaster, a tightrope walker, a trapeze artist, and a show pony walk into a giant orb…

Show 30 at the Sphere and this high-tech big top turns circus of transcendent sound and vision. 'When Love Comes To Town' and 'Don't Dream It's Over' cycle back into the set and 'Desire' is accompanied by a snippet of The Grateful Dead's 'Not Fade Away'...

Snatches and soundbites from plenty of other songs tonight,  including Simon & Garfunkel's 'America'  and some  Beatlemania: 'Baby You Can Drive My Car', George Harrison's 'My Sweet Lord', 'She Loves You', 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band' - before 'Gloria' - and 'Blackbird' to close the night.

What Bono Said

'All welcome here at a U2 show. Acrobats, magicians, cab drivers, servers, astronauts, parents and children. If you're gonna run away with the circus, this is a really cool big top, don't you agree?'

To Bram: 'You're a tightrope walker, just sayin'…'

'On my left, the ringmaster, the first one to believe we could … move our show from town to town…the first showman in the band, Adam Clayton on the bass.'

'On my right, introducing one of the great trapeze artists of the age, not because he attempts death defying, dangerous, grand-standing acts of show business — no! Precisely because he does not, ladies and gentlemen, from a higher place on Earth with us: The Edge!'

'Actually, there's one more, I forgot about him. He's quite shy. Your resident show pony, Bono Vox'.

There are not enough superlatives in the English (or any) language to adequately describe the show in the Sphere!!! Truly a once in a lifetime experience!

Achtung Brat
I got to take my 16 year old Granddaughter to the Nov 1 show. An amazing show to share. My nickname for her is "The Brat". After the concert I made her a book about the experience. This was the cover. Gary

Show 4
As I've finished show 4 and reliving the night I say to myself with amazement, it's like seeing it for the very first time, every time I go. I have 2 more dates to go to, and find myself as excited as going to show one. As the saying goes, I can't get enough. Got to sit house left and really enjoyed being the "Edge" side of the stage. Focused on him and just admire how rock solid he is. Bono sounded crisp and sharp, Adam smooth and cool, and Bram filling in for Larry is doing an awesome job. Loved when Bono thought of Bram as a tightrope walker from the circus, that Bram responded, he'd rather be the safety net. We all hope Larry is recovering well and gets back to it soon. Thanks again to the best band on the planet!! Looking forward to 2 more shows. Cheers !
