This weekend BBC Radio Two in the UK begin the first of a two-part exclusive documentary, The U2 Story.
Presenter Simon Mayo travelled to Cologne for extended interviews with Edge, Adam and Larry and to Berlin to talk with Bono. Word has it that the two hour documentary is one of the most in-depth and definitive programmes the band have participated in.
The programmes have been put together by a BBC Northern Ireland production team, including Mike Edgar and Stuart Bailie, a former NME journalist who has written about U2 for many years.
Also interviewed for the programmes, which are interspersed with music from 20 years of U2, are Paul McGuinness, producer Brian Eno, Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof and many other colleagues and friends of the band.
The programmes go out on August 18th and August 25th at 8pm. More information as we get it.
