Album Breaking Records Worldwide

U2's All That You Can't Leave Behind is now at No 1 in  22 countries worldwide. In the US, All That You Can't Leave Behind produced record opening week sales for U2  with 428,000 copies  -  but it was still pipped to the top by  Jay-Z's The Dynasty Roc La Familia (2000 - ) (Roc-A-Fella) and Outkast's Stankonia. U2's last studio album,  POP, sold 347,000 copies in its opening week in the US.

The album is now at No 1 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden  and the UK.

In the UK it is U2's eighth No 1 album - the only group in chart history with more are The Beatles (13), the Rolling Stones (10), Abba and Queen (nine each), while Led Zeppelin also have eight.

All That You Can't Leave Behind sold 164,000 copies in its first week on sale in the UK, - POP did 152,000 and the Best Of 1980-1990 sold 140,000 copies. Rattle and Hum was U2's most popular opening week release in the UK - selling 360,000 in 1988.

The album is also in second spot in Switzerland and third spot in Japan.
