U2 are nominated for two 'Brits' at the leading UK music awards show next month.
The band are nominated for 'Best International Group' ( facing competition from Green Day, Maroon 5, OutKast and Scissor Sisters) and also for 'Best International Album' (up against Killers - Hot Fuss; Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane; OutKast - Speakerboxxx/ The Love Below; and Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters).
There's U2 interest in the 'Single' category too, with the dance track 'Take Me To The Clouds Above' by 'LMC vs U2' up against Band Aid 20, Jamelia, Shapeshifters and Will Young.
Franz Ferdinand lead the nominations with shortlisting in five categories, including best British group, best British album, breakthrough act and best rock act. Muse have four nominations, while Natasha Bedingfield, Jamelia and The Streets have three.
The Brit Awards will be held at Earl's Court in London on 9 February and acts due to perform include Keane, Franz Ferdinand, Joss Stone, Scissor Sisters and Green Day.
