It was U2 who gave Irish TV legend Gay Byrne a Harley Davidson motor-cycle
now you can own it !
On May 21st 1999 Gay Byrne presented his last ever Late Late Show on Irish
TV after 33
years. One of the highlights of the show was a surprise appearance by Bono
and Larry who presented a disbelieving Gay with his very
own Harley Davidson motor-cycle.
Gay has had many happy motoring adventures since in fact he has put 10,000
miles on the clock - but now he has decided to part with the Harley and at
the same time raise funds for The Children's Medical & Research
Foundation at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin.
When Gay hosted last night's New Year's Countdown for RTE, Adam was a
special guest and with Gay launched the worldwide auction for the bike,
which is being conducted by U2.Com on a specially designed website
