The best bass playing of his career is on this album, and that's saying a lot. He deserves the happiest of days! I loved it when Letterman walked up to him and said "I could feel that in my chest!" after U2 played "Magnificent". I admire U2 more than I can say for their work ethic as a group and I think nothing shows that better than when an incredible bass line like in "Magnificent" (or "Mysterious Ways") shows up and the rest of the band (loudly) says where the idea came from.
