U2's new single, Elevation, will be released on Universal-Island Records on July 16th.
The third single to be taken from the triple-Grammy winning album, All That You Can't Leave Behind, Elevation also features on the soundtrack to this summer's Hollywood blockbuster Tomb Raider.
The video for Elevation, filmed in Los Angeles on the set of Tomb Raider, was directed by Joseph Kahn. Full of spectacular special effects, it shows a battle between Good U2 and Evil U2 and co-stars Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft. Award-winning Kahn's past credits include promos for Moby, Wu Tang Clan, Destiny's Child and Backstreet Boys.

The single will be available on two cd formats and DVD, all featuring the Tomb Raider Mix of Elevation.
There are two additional mixes of Elevation on CD1; the Escalation Mix (by Jon Carter) and the Influx Remix (by Leo Pearson and Johnny Moy).
CD2, which is a limited edition, is backed with two live tracks, a version of Last Night On Earth from Mexico City, and Johnny Cash's Don't Take Your Guns To Town, recorded in Dublin as a tribute to its composer; it also comes with a double sided poster featuring photography by Anton Corbijn and Andrew Macpherson.
The Elevation promotional video is included on the limited edition DVD, as well as exclusive interviews with all four members of the band.
U2's Elevation Tour continues to universal acclaim in the United States until the end of June. The European leg, which sold out in record time, kicks off in Copenhagen on July 6th.
