'Funky side of town' Gets Ready for Second Show

25 Jun 2005
4pm. Many fans have again queued from the small hours outside Croke Park, and then made the dash to the front of the 'bomb shelter'.

'I can't believe the spot we've got,' said Niall Jenkins, from Cork, settled in with his mates against the main barriers, stage right. 'We'll be able to look Adam right in the eye.'

It's looking a bit overcast in Dublin again, but last night, despite some patches of rain passing through, the band were on fire for two and a quarter hours.

'I've waited all year for this,' said Shelley Winter, who arrived from North Wales. 'This band is so hot, it'll be fine - whatever!'

There's also great anticipation to see The Thrills, as well as local hero Paddy Casey. Some of the earliest fans inside Croker this afternoon, will be at their second show in two days. Some have tickets for all three shows. Some have come a long way.

'Seeing U2 in Ireland was the first thing that we wanted to do when the tour was announced,' explained Mexican pilot David Vega to the Irish Independent. 'This is their home and we wanted to see them here for that reason.'

More news as we get. Set List and Show Report coming up later.
