'Window in the Skies' and a cover of John Lennon's 'Instant Karma' have been nominated for February's 50th Grammy Awards.


'Window in the Skies', from 'U218 Singles' , is nominated in the 'Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals' category. It's up against '(You Want To) Make A Memory' by Bon Jovi, 'Makes Me Wonder' by Maroon 5, 'Hey There Delilah' by Plain White T's and 'Home' by Daughtry.

U2 won this Grammy in 2001 for 'Stuck in a Moment'.

The band's cover of 'Instant Karma', from the Amnesty International benefit album for Darfur, is nominated in the 'Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals'. It's up against 'It's Not Over' by Daughtry, 'Working Class Hero' by Green Day, 'If Everyone Cared' by Nickelback and 'Icky Thump' by The White Stripes.

U2 have won this Grammy three times recently with 'Beautiful Day' (2000), 'Vertigo' (2004) and 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own' (2006).

The soundtrack from Julie Taymor's film 'Across the Universe' is nominated for 'Best Compilation Soundtrack Album'. In the film Bono, backed by The Secret Machines, covers 'I Am The Walrus' and, with Edge, covers 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds'.
