I really like this song! Like many people say: GOYB shouldn't have been the first single.. not even a single at all. I think Breathe would have made a good leading single. But Magnificent is also a stunner! What do you guys think of Stand Up Comedy?

This tune would be similar to when they opened their tour with Elevation. A great choice to get the crowd rocking from the get go.

I can see Magnificent the perfect song to start an encore set. The cirque de soleil sounds with the 'let me in the song" haunting lyrics makes me think the show will open with Fez-being born quickly followed up by Boots, tracks 1-8 are all masterful, thanks it was worth the wait

The first time I saw/heard Magnificent I saw with my jaw upon the floor, in awe of the power of the song and the chords off of Edge's guitar as they reached into my soul and played with my heart! (Letterman show)
I could not go to sleep for a couple of hours after seeing/hearing this song which has come to equal "Streets" as my all-time fav U2 anthem!

magnificent should've been the first single - lethal mix of achtung and unforgettable fire. though my favourite (as of today) is FEZ - the most unstructured song by U2 since 'exit'.

I agree with mostly all the comments. My only worry for this song is over play. This has happened a few times with U2 songs and i just hope it doesn't end up being a song that has been killed by radio play. Other than that, top choice. Thank you U2.com for my tickets.

It's a bit of Simple minds' "don't you forget about me" of the 21st century... though not the best of NLOTH. "Moment..." and "crazy..." are far ahead.

There are some great songs on this album, but Magnificent for me is my favorite! It's a great slow build up before progressing into the edge's trademark crystal chiming sound only edge can create. Musically and lyrically It's a fantastic piece of sonic architecture.

Oh yeah, baby!! Magnificent is an EXCELLENT choice for the second release. I'm also with those that say it should be the opening song on the tour. I loved it the first time I heard it... it grabbed my heart and still hasn't let go.

Definitely a brilliant idea, Magnificent is a really great song. I love how long it is, please please people in radio land, play it in full length, not some cut up "radio edit" version!
