Live From The Rose Bowl (To Everywhere)

25 Oct 2009245
'What time is it in the world and where are we going?' Bono asked after 'Get On Your Boots'. Tonight it was every time on the clock, depended which country you were in as the U2 360°: show went out live on YouTube to millions of viewers on seven continents.

A record-breaking 97,000 fans watched the show live at the Rose Bowl and we've been getting messages from fans all over the world who were enjoying it live online : you were watching in China and New Zealand, in Iran and in North Korea, in Russia and Latin America, in Canada and right across Europe.

From Iceland ('Definitely the greatest economy class I have ever had...') to Peru ('amazing, incredible and exciting...') the whole world seems to have been at the show.

'It's like we are all there at the concert,' said Baadsilver on our Zoootpia live thread 'We ALL have our hands in the air and are singing... crazy tonight for U2.'

Or as one smart Tweet put it, 'This has to be the best U2 concert I have never been to.'

From Breathe to Moment of Surrender, felt like a moment of rock'n'roll history tonight. If you were watching somewhere in the world tonight, why don't you tell us what it was like in the comments box at the bottom of this page - and don't forget to include which COUNTRY YOU WERE WATCHING IT IN.

If you were actually at the RoseBowl post your own review and add your photos on our tour page, or catch the rebroadcast here.

Meantime, even though you know this, here's what they played at the Rose Bowl tonight.

Where is the great U2?
I've seen every tour since Zoo TV. and I think we should criticize the band, until will die of success. Not everything is great. I prefer not to hear the unforgettable, or One, wowy, an more before watching as destroy, where is de spirit of this song in this tour. Bono great voice in stuck, breathe, Ultraviolet disaster, The edge great always great. I can not understand how to play the same box songs, day after day, the concerts are routine, we all know the tracklist of memory, only 2 or 3 changes at night, is the price of the monstrous stage. See the tours of Dylan, Peal Jam, . You can still correct for the upcoming tours legs. I hope.

awesome
i set my alarm for 3:33am to be up in time and it was so worth it reminded me of all the great moments i forgot from the show i went too in cardiff this summer.
generous guys
many thanks, it was great, good job for all of you : adam, larry, the edge and bono plus all the technical staff. I had the feeling I had a rendez vous with a lover as I woke up at 4.15 in the morning to watch you. This night I was 14, my name was rocking Juliet, I found again all the energy of my adolescence. Many many thanks

BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!....
I'm a 14 year old lad, totally obsessed with U2!! My whole family (who are big fans too), took me as a surprise to my first ever gig in Sheffield - 20.8.09... MAGNIFICENT!! In my opinion, no-one comes near to U2, they are the best band in the entire unirverse!!!!!!! I cannot wait to experience their awesomeness again!! Not only are they FANTASTIC musicians, but I also agree with all they stand for, and think that the way Bono is fighting his cause is inspiring. KEEP ON ROCKIN' GUYS!! :o) B-) Jack O'Neill, Cheshire, UK.

The whole family was watching!
Our whole Zootopian family tuned in at 4:30am from the Netherlands... me, my husband (hans444 on the boards) and also our 18 months old daughter, who woke up just as Breathe started and immediately made it clear that she wanted to watch the show with us! This was officially her first U2 concert :-) Words cannot describe what it felt like, knowing we were enjoying the concert live together with everyone at the Rose Bowl and all of our friends worldwide. A super special moment was seeing our dear friend Rocko on stage... A night to be remembered! Thanks U2 and everyone who made this possible!!

Amazing...even on a Webcast!
I attended the opening North American show in Chicago on September 12th and was blown away by the concert (by the way, stayed in the same hotel as the band...which was a great surprise!). So, the Webcast had big shoes to fill but I have to say, you did it admirably. The high quality of the webcast was unexpected and welcome. But most importantly, sharing something this good on this order of magnitude gave Chicago a run for its money! Thank you U2 for being so innovative...have been a fan for 25 years and you never disappoint!

ARGENTINA!
It was an amazing experience! I was watching it alone at home while talking with two other friendsfrom other cities via internet and the three of us were so excited! We are miles away, but I felt such a connection with them, sharing the same feeling for U2 :) I'm waiting here in Argentina for you!!!

Beautiful Morning!
Thank you, U2! I watched the concert in The Netherlands, from 05:00 AM to 07:15 AM. Thank you for letting the world know about Iran and Aung San Suu Kyi! Teach us!

Beautiful Night!
thank you so much for the awesome concert! El Salvador is very happy, like sooo many other countries! I had to stay awake until like 1 am (concert finished at midnight here, but I was too excited for sleep). I had to cover my mouth with my pillow the whole time, didnt want to wake anyone up with my singing/screaming. I enjoyed every song, every single minute of it. I never get tired of seeing U2 paint in silence!

I'm a 42 year-old teenager!
For the last 27 years, I've been attending U2 concerts in Los Angeles (and one in Hawaii 2006). It's as if I'm transformed in time and space each time I attend, as I always feel like an excited young girl in their presence! Yet each concert brings new sounds, new sites and new life into my soul (Breathe)! I was at the Rose Bowl last night to experience a mind-blowing show!! My only regret was I had to go to the little girl's room during Beautiful Day and missed the Bono making introductions too. But I got to see it ALL again on Youtube (even my Dublin Irish boyfriend thinks I'm glued!)... and I'm still looking for my mug in section 17L!! :-)

Still rosey just thinking about U2 Show
I've seen them at Slane Castle in Ireland, and in California many times, and the Rose Bowl was the icing on the cake. It was very magical and exciting to share the show with the rest of the world. U2 is the last of the true rock and roll bands that can pull off stadium shows like this. We experienced a historical performance and production that everyone could enjoy. The message to the people of Iran was fantastic. Peace - Love - U2 Jenny Raven, Thousand Oaks, CA, USA

Amazing Show!!!
I've seen U2 in concert 7 times now dating back to '85 and most recently 2 weeks ago in Tampa. What an amazing show and confirmed by they've always been my favorite band. What a moment when the incredible lighting effects took control of the claw!!! Or when Edge led the way into Where the Streets Have No Name.... I could go on and on about all the amazing...and...should I say it....spiritual...moments.... It really was MAGNIFICENT!!!

Magnificent- up late in New Hampshire, U
Well worth the lost sleep. Incredible to feel a connection with so many around the world. I've been a fan for over 26 years- and saw them live for the first time on the Unforgettable Fire tour. Most recently, I was in Boston this September. The broadcast was like reliving Boston! Every time I see them live, I am amazed- the YouTube broadcast was no different. I sang U2 songs to myself all day long today! Looking forward to Montreal in 2010!

Anaheim here I come!
The Rose Bowl was the most mind-boggling experience. From the moment you set foot into the stadium, you were mesmerized by the space station. And then the band began to play. The irony from one moment having one's breath taken away to beginning the set with Breathe . . . I can't wait for da boys to come to Anaheim. Ground control to Major Tom . . . Thanks, U2, for your gift of music to the world.
