It's Valentine's Day next week and Drop The Debt campaigners are urging supporters to send Valentine cards or e-mails to finance ministers of the G7 countries.
Supporters are being invited to urge the finance ministers to "have a heart and drop the debt" when they meet in Palermo on Feb 17th to discuss the agenda for the July G7 Summit in Genoa.
At the Cologne G7 Meeting two years ago, lobbied in person by Bono, Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Bob Geldof, the politicians announced pledges to cut the debt burden of the world's poorest countries by billions of dollars.
But not enough debt has been cancelled and many poor countries continue to pay more on debt to rich countries than on health care for their own people.
If you would like to send your own Finance Minister a Valentine card or e-mail urging him/her to have a heart and drop the debt, visit
