Sunday, Must be Gorbachev

13 Mar 2002
Bono was in New York at the weekend, at a dinner hosted by former President of the Russian Federation Mikhail Gorbachev.

Sunday's event, at the Russian Embassy in New York, was in honor of the Frank Foundation which is active in helping disadvantaged children around the world.

Since September 11th it has developed a program to assist children victimized by the terrorist attacks which involves taking a group to Russia at the inviation of President Putin for a cultural exchange and young leader development.

At least two Presidents, as our picture shows, are joining Bono in lending support to the program.

About The Frank Foundation

Frank Foundation Child Assistance International (FFCAI) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide assistance to children throughout the world. FFCAI undertakes a variety of activities that are guided by two objectives: delivering immediate relief for children with the greatest need and sustaining ongoing efforts to eradicate suffering for all children.

This mandate quickly expanded to include numerous cultural, humanitarian and educational programs that have helped hundreds of children and youth throughout Russia, Kazakhstan and Georgia.

FFCAI actively encourages governments, public and private organizations and individuals to commit their energy, resources and expertise to the projects and activities the foundation undertakes. FFCAI believes that by working with one child at a time, the otherwise daunting task of trying to save every child becomes manageable.
