Turn Up The Groove
Adam is among a stellar cast of guests taking part in a new Sky Arts series Greatest Basslines which airs in Ireland and the UK at 9pm tonight and is then on the NOW player.
The three part series takes audiences on a hypnotic journey through the world of the bass, guided by three extraordinary bassists: Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), Nate Mendel (Foo Fighters) and Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole, The Smashing Pumpkins).
Each musician authors their own episode, deconstructing the basslines that defined their careers, exploring the grooves that inspired them, sharing the basslines that turned them onto the instrument and shaped their playing.
As well as Adam, other guests speaking and performing on the series, include Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Mani (The Stone Roses), Gail Ann Dorsey (David Bowie), Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Deego (Fontaines D.C.), Victoria De Angelis (Måneskin), Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd/Madonna), Krist Novoselic (Nirvana), Adrian Younge (Wu-Tang Clan, Kendrick Lamar) and Alex James (Blur).
Phil Edgar-Jones, Executive Director for Sky said: "Greatest Basslines shines a light on the instrument that drives so much of the music we love. It's a chance to hear from the musicians who know it best, sharing the grooves that shaped their sound and changed the way we listen."
Greatest Basslines begins in the UK and Ireland tonight at 9pm local time on Sky Arts (Freeview channel 36), with episode 2 on Saturday 29th Nov and episode 3 on Sunday 30th Nov. The series is available to watch on NOW this weekend.
