THE LIVE NATION U2 360° TOUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STRATEGY UNPRECEDENTED COMMITMENT TO A NET ZERO EMISSIONS GOAL FOR THE GLOBAL TOUR

Live Nation, the producers of the U2 360° Tour, are committed to producing the largest concert tour in history in an environmentally responsible manner with a goal of balancing the Tour's direct carbon footprint through a comprehensive reduction and offset strategy.

MusicMatters™, a division of EFFECT Partners™, is the Tour's official Environmental Advisor and continues to be the world leader for environmental impact reduction of music tours and festivals.

On the Live Nation U2 360° Tour, EFFECT™ works with production, venues, and fans to reduce the environmental impact of the Tour without compromising the quality of the fan experience. Production efforts include waste reduction, composting, material recycling, and environmnetal education. The EnviroRider™ asks stadiums to increase their recycling efforts and trial new initiatives such as composting, sod recycling/composting, energy conversation, and VIP parking for hybrid cars and carpoolers. “Because this Tour has a broad reach geographically and within the touring industry, we’ve had the opportunity to not only reduce the impact of this Tour, but work with the venues to integrate long-term sustainability practices,” said Michael Martin, EFFECT™ Founder and President.

Fans can get involved as well.
- Coordinate carpool and reduce fan travel emissions with PickupPal
- Offset fan travel emissions with Offset Options
- Look for U2’s Green Team volunteers when you get to the show, help them recycle!
In addition to the environmental reduction initiatives, the Tour’s carbon emissions are calculated and an offset strategy will be announced at the conclusion of the 2011 Tour.
