The nominations for the 44th Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced today in Los Angeles where U2 received a staggering eight nominations.
U2 lead the pack in number of nominations, including nods in the coveted Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year categories. They will be competing against themselves in the Best Rock Song category as they earned two nominations, for "Elevation" and "Walk On," both tracks from their critically acclaimed album All That You Can't Leave Behind.
Other top nominees were India.Aria who picked up seven nominations and Alicia Keys with six. Also honoured were Alison Krauss, Brian McKnight and Outkast all received five nominations and PJ Harvey with two nominations in Best Rock Performance by Female and Rock Album of the Year categories.
U2 are nominated in the following categories;

Album of the Year - All That You Can't Leave Behind
Song of the Year - Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of
Best Pop Performance by Duo or Group with Vocal - Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of
Best Rock Performance by Duo or Group with Vocal - Elevation
Best Rock Song Elevation - Walk On
Best Rock Album - All That You Can't Leave Behind
The GRAMMY Awards take place at The Staples Centre in Los Angeles on February 27 and will be broadcast live on CBS beginning at 8pm ET.
