U2 Take Best Live Act, Brats

Elevation 2001 Tour Won U2 'Best Live Act' at the NME Carling 'Brat' Awards in London today.

The band, preparing for Wednesday's Grammy Awards, received the award via video with a special performance of The Ramone's classic Beat On The Brat.

U2 won the Best Live Award ahead of fellow nominees Ash, Linkin Park, Muse and Radiohead.

The Strokes took three honours - Album Of The Year, Best New Act and Band Of The Year. Kylie Minogue was named Best Pop Act, Radiohead picked up the Best Music Video award for Pyramid Song and Ash won the Single of the Year.

Basement Jaxx were Best Dance Act, the Lostprophets Best Metal Act and Ian Brown Best Solo Artist.
