U2 Win Two

Pretty dazzling line-up at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London today for the 2006 Q Awards - U2 went home with two awards including the one-time-only 'Q Award Of Awards'.

Kasabian, The Who, The Kooks, Paul Weller, Oasis, Corinne Bailey Rae, Sugababes, Orson, The Feeling, Manic Street Preachers, Peter Gabriel, Embrace, Primal Scream, Smokey Robinson, Muse, Keane, Jay Kay, Razorlight .... all these and more were all in the house as Larry Mullen helped kick things off by presenting one of the first awards, for 'Track of the Year', to off-beat duo Gnarls Barkley for 'Crazy'.

Edge was presented with the Q 'Innovation in Sound' award by host Jonathan Ross, in recognition of his unique contribution to the band's sound in particular and to the development of rock'n'roll music in general.

The climax of the ceremony was the presentation to U2 of the one-time-only 'Q Award Of Awards: Band of Bands accolade.
