'Our planet isn’t single-use…'

Beautiful Day provides the soundtrack for a campaign addressing single-use plastics by the World Wildlife Fund. And Edge has added his voice.

"We have to wake up to the fact that single use plastic is a biohazard. Today no human or animal is safe from its impacts. It's a convenience that we cannot afford."

In March 2022, UN Member States agreed to negotiate a legally binding global treaty to end plastic pollution. This was a major leap towards a plastic free ocean for all. This framework will be negotiated over the next two years and is expected to be in place by the end of 2024.'

Grateful to U2
I just wanted to say how grateful I am to U2 for this post and all the work they have done for WWF and Greenpeace. The band has always lent their voices to wildlife and nature conservation, using their spotlight to help. I'm not sure you will ever see this post but thank you guys!!!!!!

It’s terrible. Everything in the shops and especially in the supermarkets, is wrapped in plastic. Even vegetables and fruit. The nets for fruit are so bad. Luckily there’s an alternative. Markets, where you can bring your own bag. And okay you can bring it to the supermarket as well, but most of the fruit and vegetables are prepackaged.

WWF/END PLASTIC WASTE
I have been thinking much about this issue during the last 2 years. I use only glass bottles...also fir travelling. I find so importend to look after our planet as much as we can and raising awarnes about it is crutial.

Great Cause But
Think how many trees slaughtered to fill demand. Updates on biodegradable plastic?

We Can Do Something About This.
It is appalling what we have done to this planet but things can and are being done to make things better. Check out (The Ocean Cleanup) for starters. A non profit organisation doing amazing work.
