'Adding more?'

25 Mar 2010659
Speaking to Dave Fanning of Irelands's 2FM a few weeks back, Edge said the band had begun thinking about this year's shows. Dave mentioned that in 2009 there was always five or six songs from No Line on the Horizon: 'Would you keep that many?

'We were talking about adding more,' said Edge, in a decidedly enigmatic tone. 'Changing out some of the songs...'

And that was it, the subject was closed, he was giving nothing else away. But we can dream can't we ? So here's the thing: if you could add in a song from 'No Line' which wasn't a regular in the set last year ... what would it be?

And while you're musing on that one, what song from any earlier album, which didn't feature in 2009, would you love to hear in the mix this time around ?

Answers in the box below please. One different track from No Line, one other track from any earlier album. (And why, if you have the time...)

(If your memory needs refreshing on the songs the band were performing last year, check the 2009 dates and click on any city to see the set list.)

ADDING SONGS
From NO LINE please play "Fez: Being Born". The lyrics make me cry, they are so Bono and so beautiful. The music is so U2, sweeping melodies and going to the higher ground. A song from an earlier album...how about a B side? How about "Salome" and the vibe of the Zooromancer? It keeps in line with the dance theme, it is sexy and playful and I would like to see some more of Bono's sexy and playful side on this tour... Can't wait until the summer!

I would suggest adding White as Snow; also suggest incorprating the best two-song "couplet" in the history of live rock shows - Streets followed by Pride! Looking forward to Montreal!!

Forgot my favourite song!
I was just checking my itunes and there I saw Van Diemen's Land, this is one my favourite songs. I hope that Edge will sing this song in Frankfurt 2010! Bono would you convince Edge to do it, if he doesn't want to do it :P Greetings from Holland

See you in T.O.
I'd like to hear the regular version of "I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight". That would be pretty sweet. The again, looking down at what everyone else is saying, I can't help but agree with what everyone wants heard off of "No Line On The Horizon". I think "Miracle Drug" would be an amazing song to have on the setlist as well. While it isn't one of their big hits, I think the meaning behind the song is worth its addition onto the setlist. See you in Toronto on July 3!

North America 2010 Suggestions
From an earlier album...the return of "The Fly." NLOTH...okay, this is cheating a bit, but I'd like to hear the boys perform a version of "Crazy" that's truer to the album version. I did love the remix, but it's my favorite song on the album.

LIKE A SONG...
From No Line: I would love to hear 'Winter' which didn't quite make the album (but should have. I agree with Eno). And definitely I'll Go Crazy played the real way (no remix please!). Old School: Like A Song - great early Edge guitar riffs Two Hearts Beat as One - great upbeat song clubbing or live Gloria - great in the #2 slot to fire us up! One Tree Hill - the melodies build all the way Love Comes Tumbling - never heard it live A Sort of Homecoming (Brian Eno remix) - love the African-style 'Oh Come Away, Oh Come Away' Jon O. - Austin, TX

Songs on the Horizon
No one's really ever mentioned No Line On The Horizon 2. I feel that was a better version than the one on the album. As for an old song I'd have to go with Window In The Skies. Has that even been done live yet? If not "Window" then definitely something from Zooropa. Some Days Are Better Than Others would be great. I'd like to see Adam really dig into that bass in the opening of the song.

White As Snow and Bad

bad fan?
add: Stand UpC omedy& Like A Song... but don't delete any of the current NLOTH cuts either. Must Keep: No Line & Moment of Surrender! Ashamed to say: cut W Or W/oYou- a song i've always loved but it did not hit me as powerfully as the rest of their Chicago set (day 2/Sunday). Am I a bad U2 fan for saying that? (The Stones don't always play "Satisfaction"....)

So many choices!!!
I would really love to hear Fez/Being Born from NLOTH. I would really love Bad to be in the set list for Chicago 2010. I saw it in Dublin last year, although it wasn't in a lot of set lists, and would like to see it again. Otherwise, All I Want is You is always a favorite of mine!

Bad Please...
Wasn't played at either of the two gigs i attended last year (Glasgow and Chicago 2) - please play it in Seville. Must keep Breathe as opener, i would just maybe add a couple of songs to make it that wee bit longer - Awesome show whatever set they play anyway!!

Fez-Being Born
I'd also love to hear Acrobat, Gone and Drowning Man!

STAND UP COMEDY
Can I vote for STAND UP COMEDY a million times??? It would be a rocking stadium song. I can't believe they ignored it. Running to Stand Still would make me cry tears of joy.

Would love to hear lesser played Joshua Tree stuff like One Tree Hill or Running to Stan Still

Two Much Is Not Enough
From NLOTH I'd like Unknown Caller. I know it was already part of the setlist, but they didn't play it when I saw them! As for another song . . . . I would do something flashy off of POP to utilize the capabilities of that wonderful stage. So Discotheque or MOFO would be great. Of course . . . Zooropa would also be fantastic.
