Was it a single release that became a global hit or an obscure album track that you think most people still haven't discovered?
Was it a track they've yet to play live or a song that no live show can now be complete without?
Was it something they wrote which doesn't feature on one of the three studio albums? (There's a handful of tracks like this... when you come to think of it.)
Your call. Tell us what was the ONE greatest piece of work the band created during the last decade... and in a couple of sentences tell us why.
Three words: Moment of Surrender. What an incredibly powerful song. Adam's simple, yet hypnotic bass lines provide a smooth foundation to an intensely spiritual song, and Bono's heartfelt singing makes it even better. It's the best song on an album that's been criminally underrated by the public.

Vertigo, Beautiful Day and Walk On are probably my stand out live tracks from the noughties, but my favorite song off the three albums they released has to be Stuck In A Moment!!!!! There was many good songs on all three of their albums.

Lights blind me everytime !
As U2 say "Live is where we live" - so the song that has transferred best to the live stage in the past decade has been City of Blinding Lights - 25 years watching U guys - will settle for 15 more !

In a Little While
Hands down this song is one of their best ever, not just in this decade. The lyrics and the way Bono sings make my heart melt.

No Surrender
"I tied myself with wire, to let the horses run fee". Moment of Surrender is a chisel to the veneer of artifice, allowing us just a glimpse of the truth.

Moment Of Surrender
The raw emotion of this song makes it the best of the decade. LOVE IT!

Difficult choice
It's so hard to choose one of the entire decade, it's a little easier to choose one from each album. In ATYCLB, Kite. In HTDAAB, City of Blinding Lights. Both are so intense... In NLOTH, Moment of Surrender and Unknown Caller! For me, they always have to be heard together ;)

Crumbs From Your Table
Gosh! It's one of the most remarkable and most underrated songs ever from the catalogue during this decade. I absolutely love it and you guys should start playing it more often. Especially in huge concerts. :)

Too many choices
The overall best is "Beautiful Day" in my opinion but "City of Blinding Lights" and "Moment of Surrender" are amazing also. The lesser known tracks that I like are "Peace on Earth", "Grace", "YAHWEH" ESPECIALLY !!, and "One Step Closer"

Greayest Song of the Decade
Although many people might disagree with me i think that 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own'. Mostly because this song is so real and it can be related to many people. Just the name of the song 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own' can be said to millions around us and mostly to our parents. This is why i think that this song is the best.

Vertigo/Electrical Storm
Vertigo and Electrical Storm are U2's two best songs from the 2000's. I went to see U2 live at Giants Stadium on the 360 tour and was blown away by the sheer energy of Vertigo (it's the mother of all rock songs). Electrical Storm is a haunting, psychedelic masterpiece. It carries the power that One has, and I wish U2 would try to write more like it. In my opinion, its their signature song of the 2000's.

No Line On The Horizon (song)
NLOTH has an amazing impact, right from the start. The relentless waves of guitar absolutely devour any sense of negativity one might be feeling.
Bono's voice has evolved wonderfully, and his octave-jumping wails lift the spirit in a way completely unlike any other singer.
Adam and Larry anchor the whole thing with a steady, oceanic power that rounds out the beauty of the song.

GREAT DECADE
It's not an easy thing but my favorite songs are:
NO LINE ON THE HORIZON- it's an amazing way to begin the album, so strong and very fresh for the band at the end of the decade, lots of energy and everyone at their best, particularly Bono
BEAUTIFUL DAY- on the other side it was really exciting the way they begin the decade, really positive, always makes me feel happy
IN A LITTLE WHILE - soft, tender and really gentle, I love it

Unknown Caller - ushers in the next deca
Too many great songs from this decade. Walk On and Magnificent stick out. But when I think of the current state of the world and the challenges of the next decade... that we may one day fulfill John's one true wish... I feel inspired by Unknown Caller. And a great Edge solo!

Unfair Question
There is absolutely no way to pick just one song!!! All of the ones mentioned so far are fantastic - Electrical Storm, Moment of Surrender, Beautiful Day, Kite... The list goes on and on. It just shows what an incredible band U2 is. Can't wait to see what the next ten years bring.

To New Beginnings..
You've been busy, All That You Can't Leave Behind sounds very profound. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, do you give us the secret, I'm sure it is easier than we think. No Line On The Horizon do tell us where it went. As you can tell I'm new to this group, lots of home-work. Your call, the greatest piece of work is letting Bono talk, his is very good at it. Have a safe and fun New Year's Eve.
