U2360° TOUR

Apr 13 2011
Sao Paulo, BR / Estadio Morumbi
with Muse
194

'Usually we sing to you but here you sing to us.' Tonight's final show in Brazil went out live across South America and worldwide on U2.com.

'Tonight is our last night in South America and we wanted to remember this,' said Bono after Until The End of the World. 'So we're going out live on radio and online across the whole of your mesmerising continent as an excuse so we can have the record of this show. This show will last for ever.'

And for another capacity crowd at this third and final night at the Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo, as well as those listening online and on the radio in Venezuela, Peru Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Brazil - and all those tuning in worldwide on U2.com - this was surely a night we won't forget.

'Lift Up and Lift Off' said Chip in Philadelphia, on our live text feed, as we heard the opening chords of Even Better Than The Real Thing. 'Think I'm gonna blow my speakers,' added Badsilver. 'Never seen them live,' said Oscar in Iceland, 'Love when they do something like this'.

Extraordinary but little known fact of the night: the song playing before Space Oddity, ahead of the band's arrival on stage, was Telstar by The Tornados, whose rhythm guitarist was one George Bellamy, father of Matt of Muse, whose band played another fine set earlier in the evening.

There was more musical pedigree in the house tonight too: Steve Lillywhite had flown down from New York and when I Will Follow took over from 'Real Thing' Steve, the original producer of this track, was amazed to hear it 'sounding as good as it did 30 years ago'. And this audience is loud, as he told his followers on Twitter: 'People from Sao Paulo know how to make a noise at a U2 concert !'

Thousands and thousands of you from all over the world were adding to our live text feed, while listening live online, and everyone agreed that these Brazilian fans know how to enjoy a show.

'Don't think I'll need coffee to stay awake for this! said Eamonn Doyle in Ireland. Hoachy, in Falkirk, Scotland said that the sound is so good, 'My whole street are listening to this.'

Mysterious Ways was up next and BAM in NY captured the universal good vibes: 'What better joy is there than to rock to U2 live, or stream it, AND Tweet, FB, text, etc with all U2 Fans in the WORLD.'

Larry had a Brazilian flag across the drum kit as the band were introduced:'Ring those bells Edge, ring those bells.'

'I hope you like our current mode of transportation,' continued Bono, before Still Haven't Found. 'The space station has been to all kinds of interesting places and we mean it when we say that we are coming all the way over here to here to see you.
'Usually we sing to our audience but here our audience sings to us.
'Usually we put on a show for our audience but here you put on a show for us.'

No need to actually sing the song as the whole place was singing it for him. 'Let's go to church now...' After Pride, a special guest: ''We are great fans of a truly great artist here in Brazil,' explained Bono, 'His name is Seu Jorge.' Loud reception as Seu takes the stage to join Bono for a beautiful acoustic duet of 'The Model'. Another guest followed, a young woman to read a Brazilian translation of Beautiful Day which the band then follow with their own translation, seamlessly giving way to Miss Sarajevo - or 'Miss Sao Paulo' as Huubster in Curacao puts it.

And a great night is only going to get better.

'Zooropa... Vorsprung durch Technik
Zooropa... be all that you can be
Be a winner
Eat to get slimmer....'

For only the fifth live performance ever Zooropa returns to the set and it's perfectly placed before the Space Station takes off again. 'Bring on the Lemon' as a commenter in New York suggests.

'The best moment of the show!' says Jenny in Australia, welcoming City of Blinding Lights. 'A spectacle for the eyes and very good for the soul!' adds Joao Paulo in Brazil. And in a tour which keeps throwing up surprises in the set list, there was one more to come: All I Want Is You, bleeding into Streets, which was, frankly, something else!

'This is INCREDIBLE!' said FranciscoBrady. 'I´ve been to the 3 concerts in Argentina and i felt in heaven ! But tonight I feel like the whole world is connected trough U2 live from South America ! Thanks to U2 and hi to the rest of the world.. we are there.. right now.. yes, there, where the streets have no name! peace!'

A final word from Danny in Ireland: 'Thank you Brazil...you have given us the best soccer and now the best U2 fans..'

Were you at tonight's final show in South America ? Tell us what it was like in the stadium. What was the moment you will never surrender ? Add your own review and upload your photos below.

FANTASTIC!!!!
IT WAS MY THIRD CONCERT AND IT WAS SIMPLY THE BEST!!! MY HUSBAND AND I NEVER SAW SOMETHING LIKE THAT!!! BONO WAS A LITTLE VOICELESS (DOES THIS WORD EXIST???) BECAUSE OF BRAZILIAN REASONS - ONLY BRAZILIAN PEOPLE WOULD UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT THAT BECAUSE WE LOVE HIM AND THE BAND SO BAD - BUT WE DIDN`T CARE... U2 WAS THERE AND THEY ARE AWESOME ANYWAY, EVERYTIME AND FOREVER... LOVE YOU GUYS FOREVER...

Really Amazing!!!
The opening of U2's show in Sao Paulo (Brazil) in 13/04/2011 with the song Even Better Than The Real Thing, the album Achtung Baby, 1991, was incredible. It was the best show I've ever been in my life! Extraordinary. The sound quality on stage was perfect. I stayed in the upper bleachers special red and I could not talk without being "in the ear" almost screaming. Without any distortion. Never seen (heard) it in an outdoor stadium. Fantastic! The Stage is worth every penny invested and the Muse show was also very cool, amazing to me. Put a picture of me, my husband and my baby in the show. As you can see, I'm pregnant and my son will be called Adam Correa de Jesus. (tribute to U2's secret of success! rsrsrsrsrsrs). I recorded the opening show and put it on the net: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tpsm6EI0kX0 Thanks for the unforgettable Musical Journey! Kisses!

magic moments
I'm from Sao Paulo and I went to all 3 concerts there... I slept in front of the stadium, I was cold, hungry, thirsty, tired, stayed in the storm ... But all suffering was forgotten when they entered the stage!! I've been magical moments that I'll never EVER forget!! The last show, april,13, was a dream... I was very close to the stage, I felt an incredible energy of the audience and U2... They were loving being there, singing WITH us!!!! In the sequence of "All I want is you" and "Streets" I cried like a child... It was beautiful, perfect, I LOVE U2 more than ever!

I'll Follow U2!!!
I was at the 3 concerts at São Paulo. Lucky ?! No !!! Determination !!! Passion !!! Love !!! How can I choose a "beste track" ??? All the tracks are THE BEST !!! But listening "Out of Controll", made me come back at the 80's, and it's so specialy. "Where The Streets Have no Name", allways it´s the highlights, you can feel the emotion all around of the Stadium, sometimes, you can feel tat you are flying !!! I'll never forget "Miss Sarajevo" and "Mysterious Ways"... I love you guys...and see you soon !!! A BIG KISS FOR U2 !!!
Unforgetable - 3 times 360o concert
I have been 3 times to the 360o concert. First time I travelled to Ireland just to be with them (2009) and now, twice in São Paulo. Best concert, ever. Memorable. Wonderful. Spectacular. Unmatched. Dream of meeting Bono, The Edge, Larry, Adam. And dreams can come true... maybe one day... :-)

Another Brazilian fan
My name is Luciano Mazim, I’m live in Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul. Like thousands of fans out of Porto Alegre which is over 1,100 km from Sao Paulo to watch what I call "The Greatest Show Earth" for the show whit 13 april, as well as thousands of fans spent the night in line, getting wet and cold, but I can say that everything was worth it. In my personal blog I'm counting on small publications all the situations experienced while waiting for a show and as a curiosity like U2 manages to attract so many young people into their tours. The address of my blog is www.lucianomazim.blogspot.com. Thanks U2 for bringing to my life the best experience ever lived.

The show of my life!
Unforgettable! I traveled from Porto Alegre, by plane, in the same day of the show, but I dont feel tired, cause I'm realizing a dream. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For's chorus was emotional, Walk On performance too. In Where The Streets Have No Name, my favorite, I cried, realizing that I'm really watching U2 in Brazil. Moment of Surrender' cell phone lights were from other world. Me and next people just saying "My God, my God!!" Thanks U2! Come back soon!

The Light you spread ...
Bono, The Edge, Larry, Adam and production, good night. God has illuminated many representatives here on earth ... There is no doubt that you carry and spread His light wherever they go. I was on Wednesday, 13.04 and waited 23 years for this moment and all I can say is that my heart felt more alive, my only thoughts were of love and peace, my soul connected with all those who were there and we all more closer to God. A warm hug and lots of light! Cristiano Alves Botelho.
The Best Show of My Llife
To date the show does not come out of my head. Never in my life seen anything like it. Bono and his friends at work have shown who they really are. People committed to world peace, the problems of each country. That honor made the victims of the massacre in the city of Rio de Janeiro will be forever in memory of victims' relatives and fans of U2. When the show was on April 13, thanked God for giving me the opportunity to be there. All songs sung for the band certainly had not left the memory of the members of U2. I hope to one day talk with Bono personally and tell him, continue firm in their purposes, because as he said, I'm Brazilian and never give up. I would take the show on DVD April 13. After all I was there, and besides having the show recorded in my memory. I would like to have him home to relive every second of that wonderful show and still keep crying with emotion every time they hear and see the images of the show. If anyone has the DVD or know where to find it. No piracy. Only original. Fineness contact via email thanks roterdaferreira@yahoo.com.br U2 by providing two unforgettable hours in my life. thank you thank you and god bless them always.DO MORE SHOWS IN THE BRAZILIAN

unforgettable
Today is April 17th. We (my wife, my daughter and I) can't forget the third U2 Show in São Paulo. We were lucky to be there. Impossible to define in little words. Impossible to forget, impossible to choose the best moment (there were many of them), impossible don't cry while listening "moment of surrender", impossible don't sing "I still haven't found what I am looking for", impossible don't jump when listening vertigo, elevation, where the streets have no name, beautiful day...

Amazing!
I was at this show, and was the first U2 concert I have ever seen. Even it's difficult to describe what I felt that day. It was something inexplicable, I shiver until now just to remind the songs and listen again. There is nothing in the world that can match the fact of listen to I Will Follow, Zooropa and EBTTRT live, can not explain the feeling I had so Edge "stalled" over my head UTEOTW when "greeted" Bono catwalk circular, to feel the tremble in Morumbi Vertigo, listen the first chords of Edge in WTSHNN, after All Want Is You, at the same time that we painted the Morumbi in Green and Yellow balloons and Bono exclaimed: "Eu sou Brasileiro, e não desisto nunca!"all this makes me even more proud to be Brazilian, U2 fan and make sure it was worth all the effort I made to be on this show! Hereafter, always that listen to the audio of this show, I'll be sure it was not a dream, I was there, after all, this show will last for ever! :) Tks, U2!

11 april, forever im my mind!
I'm U2 fan since I was 10, a little girl! My life is marked fo their songs, each stage in my life, there's a song by U2 that takes me to it! So 11th april 2011 in Morumbi was amazing! Most memorable moment: Where the streets have no name, tears came down! So many times I thought: I wanna run, I want to hide! Before a poison rain (2 hours under it), I could sing and dance with my old friends/idols: U2!!! I WILL FOLLOW TILL THE END OF THE WORLD! one love, one life!

Tonight we'll build a bridge
As the Space Station takes to the skies towards Mexico City and I pack for my other life in dear Blighty, I feel the need to say thanks. U2, thank you for heeding the pleas of so many Brazilian fans. Ever since leaving Wembley Stadium on 15/8/2009, I'd been begging for these dates. It took us twenty months, but it was worth every second. It's clear to me that these shows have been burned in my memory forever. Thank you for listening to us when you choose the set list and, as Willie says, being "bold". After difficult eighteen months in my personal life, it feels like I can breathe: somethings make sense and I can fly again. And you've helped me get to that place. I know you think that people like me have given you a "blessed" life. It is true, but, in our shared history, in this One Planet, you have given me a soundtrack to my life and new dreams to dream. One, Stay, Walk On... A Sort of Homecoming. Cheers! See you in Dublin.

Frustrated...
Hello guys! Among all the fans that have been to the concert, I'm writing you to tell the story of a guy (me) who didn't have the ticket to the show but decided to take a 3 hr flight to Sao Paulo anyway, tring to buy it at the stadium... But it didn't worked out as planned... :( The middle man were charging outrageous prices (3 or 4 times higher that the original) that unfortunatelly I couldn't afford... not that much... and then the dream of seen the concert ended up at the stadium gates.. going back home at the first flight next morning... :( Anyway... I'm sure it was a great concert and I hope I find a way to see it somewhere in US or Mexico, buying the tickets in advance this time... See you soon guys! (I hope...) Best regards, Ed
